Course SCHEDULE
The day begins at 10:30 AM and concludes at approximately 3:30 PM, providing participants with a comprehensive introduction to the customs and courtesies of fine dining, with an emphasis on gracious conduct and polished decorum.
ELEGANT DINING
This module provides a comprehensive immersion in British dining etiquette, combining clear instruction with practical application. You will gain an understanding of the different types of service used in the United Kingdom, along with guidance on chinaware, glassware, flatware, linens, and table presentation.
Particular focus is given to the British place setting, seating plans, and the correct handling of cutlery and glasses. Attention is also paid to napkin etiquette, approaching challenging foods with confidence, managing minor mistakes with composure, and understanding the conventions surrounding bills and tipping.
These principles are then practised during a hosted one-course luncheon within the formal dining room at the course venue, where you will apply your learning in a formal setting, allowing etiquette to move from theory into lived experience with calm assurance and ease.
Outcome: To dine with confidence and refinement, able to navigate formal meals with quiet assurance and natural grace.
CORPORATE ENTERTAINING (OPTIONAL)
This module focuses on the principles and practices of hosting with confidence in professional and corporate contexts. You will explore how to select the appropriate type of event, whether at home or in a restaurant setting, and how to compose a considered guest list.
Guidance is given on assembling a receiving line, arranging seating in accordance with precedence, and creating the conditions for a successful and well-managed occasion. The module also addresses the art of toasts and speeches, alongside thoughtful corporate gift giving, ensuring your hosting reflects professionalism, discernment, and respect for the occasion.

HOW DO I JOIN THE MONTHLY ONLINE GROUP Q&A SESSION? WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T MAKE IT?
The Monthly Online Group Q&A Sessions are delivered via Zoom. Students must download Zoom to their computer or smartphone to join the call, but they don't need a Zoom account.
The schedule will be released to students one month in advance. All calls will be recorded and uploaded to the training website within 24 hours so you can watch the replay at your leisure.
